Float®

Traditionally called flat glass, the Float® glass is irreplaceable when clear vision without optical distortion is desired. It is the ultimate raw material to be transformed into tempered glass, laminated glass, manufacture mirror, and manufacture double glazed units.

When colored Float® is manufactured, metal oxides are added to the mixture, which are responsible for staining the mass of the glass. The intensity of the tone increases with the thickness.

Use

Float® is a distortion-free transparent flat glass that has flat and parallel sides with shiny, and burnished surfaces. It has consistent thickness and homogeneous mass, and is perfectly transparent. It is the only glass that meets the stringent international quality standards in force in the automotive industry.

In order to reduce radiant solar heat and the discomfort caused by excessive luminosity, its mass is colored and/or painted with a reflective coating applied on one of its sides.

This high quality Float® glass by VASA is available in standard sheets of 2500x3600 mm and the 3600x5500mm jumbo size. As a design tool, possibilities are only limited by the creativity of users and by the safety criteria, which must always be taken into account for all applications in architecture, vehicles and equipment components.
