Mirage®

Having almost magical virtues, mirrors are considered the ultimate decorative glass. Its proper use allows to duplicate or multiply images, creating the illusion of larger and brighter environments, often providing surprising spatial sensations. It is irreplaceable in interior decoration and in the furniture industry, and combines with all styles always providing a touch of quality and style.

Features

Manufactured with colorless or color Float® glass, Mirage® is a mirror whose quality and durability is comparable to the best mirror manufactured in Europe or the USA. Produced under rigorous quality controls and high performance materials, Mirage® has a unique double protective paint layer that guarantees a long lasting mirror without changing its aspect or characteristics.

Availability

Mirage® is manufactured in standard 2500x3600mm sheets manufactured with:

• - Colorless 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 and 6mm Float® glass
• - Grey 4 - 5 and 6mm Float® glass
• - Bronze 4 - 5 and 6mm Float® glass

Double Protective Coating Mirage®

Composition

• A) Float® distortion- free flat glass subject to an intense washing process with demineralized hot water.
• B) Application of a sensitizing solution to offer better adhesion of the silver coating to the glass.
• C) Deposition of metallic silver creating the reflective layer of the mirror.
• D) Application of a copper solution that functions as a protective and sacrifice layer for the silver coating.
• E) First layer of anticorrosive paint to protect silver and copper coatings.
• F) Second coat of protective paint with greater mechanical resistance to scratching, which inhibits the action of moisture on the mirror.

Optimirror® plus

Optimirror® Plus offers a new concept in mirror manufacturing that provides a product with greater durability and resistance to processing than a mirror manufactured by a conventional technique. Produced with very high quality raw materials, Optimirror® Plus does not have a copper layer - "copper free" - which, to a large extent, is responsible for generating the "black edge" problem. Also, the absence of copper allows the use of lead- free paints. Subjected to the usual accelerated aging tests: acid salt spray, neutral salt spray and humidity chamber, it beats the performance of a regular good quality mirror. To distinguish it and refer to its ecologically friendly manufacturing process, the back of the mirror is coated with dark green paint with Optimirror® Plus printed continuously. It is available in 4 and 6mm thick 2500x3600mm sheets.
